KAIPUU BELFRY is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. "KAIPUU" originates from the Finnish word "kaukokaipuu," which denotes a strong yearning and intense desire to embrace unexplored lands.

KAIPUU BELFRY lives in “Quanzhou Belfry Department Store”, a turn-of-the-century landmark in Midtown, steeped in the spirit of the city and the classic bones of the building. The hotel offers a select shop, 48 rooms and suites, a contemporary Japanese restaurant, a rooftop bar and a multi-functional meeting room.

In the heart of downtown in Quanzhou, a block or two from just about everything. Quanzhou Belfry Department Store was opened on October 1, 1979, and was one of the favorite shopping places for Quanzhou citizens and once known as a synonym for prosperity in Quanzhou.

As of now the building has reopened after being repaired and revitalized by KAIPUU. Through the building from Quanzhou, created in honest dialog with its past and future legends. By sharing its environment and cultural heritage, the hotel acts as a platform to amplify the voices of Chinese culture and those of the surrounding communities.
